Bach, an endocrinologist at the University of Minnesota Medical School, analyzed the contents of 23 samples stavzor pills obtained from pharmacies in four U.S. states and six European countries (Croatia, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, and Spain). Stavzor may actually contain a combination of amoxicillin, sulfasalazine (a known vasotoxic drug used to treat blood cancers, including leukemia), and other inactive ingredients. "Many companies sell generic versions of fluoroquinolones, and stavzor was one of the most commonly sold these products," says Thompson.
